Live For Him Ministries in Uganda, January '25
Next January 17-25, Live For Him Ministries will be hosting a mission trip to Bugiri, Uganda. The mission is two-fold.
One group of individuals will be putting on a Vacation Bible School type program for the students at Live For Him Ministries Children's Academy. They will plan and lead Bible lessons, crafts, and games.
Another group of individuals will be starting construction on a new classroom building for the lower elementary students. Presently, they are meeting in an open building with a roof, but no walls and a dirt floor.
In both cases, participants will be working alongside natives and learning of their culture.
News from Live For Him Ministries Children's Academy
Presently, there are 167 children and 13 teachers at the Live For Him Ministries Children's Academy. Each one receives a noon meal every school day.
Six students are receiving scholarships to attend secondary school.
The teachers have received their June salary.
Twenty-two students are preparing for their national examinations in November. They are sleeping at the school on mats laid out on dirt floors. It is our goal to raise enough money to purchase bunk beds with mattresses and to add cement floors. A small solar panel and battery have been purchased so that there is one light bulb in three rooms.
Reuseable sanitary pads have been provided to the girls. Often times, the girls will miss a week of school each month because they don't have personal sanitary protection.

Live For Him Ministries Starts Feeding Students
The Generous Support of Many Is Making Dreams Come True
Just a few months ago, the Live For Him Ministries Board dreamed of providing support for a school in Bulgiri, Uganda. Thanks to the generous gifts of people, that dream has become a reality. The Live For Him Ministries Children's Academy is now helping 160 children by serving a noon meal for all the students, offering scholarships to six secondary school students, and making a small stipend possible for the teachers. Thank you to all who have given of their resources.

Our History
Live For Him Ministries grew out of a mission trip that Rev. John and Julie Battern took to Africa in the fall of 2021. Since that time, John has been teaching pastors in Uganda, Kenya, Malawi, Tanzania, and Zambia via the web. Along with some mission minded friends, Live For Him Ministries was founded in 2023 in order to further the scope and reach of training and equipping disciples in Africa.
